Wife had a filet, I had prime rib. Both were fantastic! We are natives to St. Joseph and came here when young, and it is still a place for a great steak. Sad that the stock yards is not what it was 100 years ago! Living in Texas we don't have as many choices for such a great steak at such a reasonable price. When in St. Joseph, make a plan to dine at the Hoof and Horn!

Have gone to this restaurant before with the family and it has always been good. Went with a party last night and they exceeded all expectations. Even with a group of over 20, the food was great and the service was very attentive. Great experience.

This place is a hidden gem... Everything ordered was of premium quality. The drinks had a good amount of alcohol and cheaper than average. Will definitely come again...

I can't believe that people think that the steaks here are good. I ordered the ribeye and it looked like it was thrown on a griddle on one side the other side looked like it hadn't been cooked at all, husbands steak was just light brown on both sides. One of my sides was something called breaded tomatoes, yuk, was a bowl of sloppy tomatoes and what I would guess pieces of bread. This place is not cheap either. I live in Kansas City and we know what a good steak looks and taste like. We only went because of the good reviews.

My favorite place for steak in St. Joe. Always good with outstanding service. Spinach salad is also a winner! I always order the ribeye which is steak perfection! Waitresses are especially attentive and accommodating. Also love the cinnamon rolls.

A mediocre family restaurant, the menu suggests a fancier fare than the kitchen provides. Get the cowboy burger, not the tenderloin sandwich.

Bad area for a restaurant in the middle of a bunch of stock yards. Seriously? Our family of three was turned away even though restaurant was almost empty and the "open" sign was on and it was 6pm on a Sqturday night. No was not impressed with the "ambience" anyway.

Great Steakhouse in the Stockyard Steakhouse tradition. I was glad that they reopened after the fire. My wife loves the Prime Rib and I try something different every time I come in. Friendly owner and great service!

We had dinner last evening and were very pleased with the food and the service. I had the 8 oz top sirloin. It was tender, cooked just right and flavorful. The corn on the cob was at the ideal maturity. Service was excellent--just enough checking to refill drink glasses and see that the food was satisfactory. Waitresses were friendly and worked together well. It was an thoroughly enjoyable dining experience. Their was very good value for the money. An extra benefit is the restaurant is smoke free so one need not be concerned about having to endure the smell by being seated close to a smoking area!

Average American salad -iceberg lettuce, julienne carrots, shredded purple cabbage, shredded cheese, grated hard boiled eggs. House dressing is interesting (creamy French with blue cheese) They have wild sockeye salmon, but the taste was average. On the plus side it was well prepared and not over cooked. Mixed vegetables was steamed broccoli, best to drop the "s" if you're only serving one vegetable. Aged hoof and horn steak - Outstanding job of preparing it medium rare, it was tender, but the taste isn't interesting. Please don't ruin it with steak sauce! Twice baked potato was really good. Cinnamon rolls are AMAZING along with the dinner/yeast rolls were good. Overall it is a 3, but don't hesitate to stop on over to this place. Service is excellent!

Went in for lunch with about 10 of us the other day. Friendliest service in St Joes, Could not believe the size of the Prime Rib Sandwich. HUGE! Bean and Ham soup was excellent. No wait on the food and no issues splitting the check with the large group!
